The Real UP House

Saw this post on another blog and I had to share it…

Earlier this March the National Geographic Channel put the famous balloon flying house from Disney’s UP to the test. How fun would that be? After assembling a team of scientists, engineers and two world-class balloon pilots, they successfully launched a 16′ X 16′ house 18′ tall with 300 8′ colored weather balloons from a private airfield east of Los Angeles. The house reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet and flew for approximately one hour. The record will be part of a new National Geographic Channel series called How Hard Can It Be? premiering Fall 2011. I can’t wait to check this show out! It sounds like way too much fun. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the premiere!
